12 Apr GUILLA – CHILDREN OF THE SUN
Today, Houston-based Guilla, release highly anticipated third project, Children of the Sun.
The 8 track album, released via Cloudopolis Entertainment, was inspired by free thought and love and provides a lot for each listener. Almost every song caters to a different genre- whether that be trap, hip hop, electronic, or dance.
“In eight songs, Guilla works with varying producers and brings another trippy and completely different from the herd album that feels bigger than everything else in music today,” David Garrick, freepresshouston.com.
One of the strongest tracks, Saturn, has an interesting juxtaposition of R&B and Spanish guitar. The following song, Children of the Sun, was inspired by The Fifth Element, “My favorite film of all time. The concept of the song is that you will never be complete until you find your other half, then you can continue your spiritual journey towards enlightenment together,” Timothy Russell AKA Guilla. Most of the tracks on the album are hip hop driven, but Cosmic Heartbeat caters to those that like dance music, with drum and base. The track features vocals from the talented Kam Franklin of The Suffers. The futuristic hip hop track, Super Nova’s was featured on MIOW’s Nextwave Vol. 1. You can name your price for this compilation album via SugarHill Recording Studios.
